Devotees are required to rise before daybreak, take a holy bath, and then observe the Datta Jayanti fasting practise. Devotees must give sweets, incense sticks, flowers, and a light during the puja. Sacred mantras and holy melodies must be spoken, as well as words from the Jivanmukta Gita and the Avadhuta Gita. During Puja, sprinkle turmeric powder, vermillion, and sandalwood paste on the statue of the Datta God.
