Shyamala Navratri 2024 Dates

Every year, the Hindu calendar celebrates four Navratri festivals.  Those are

  1.  Vasantha Navratri in the month of Chaitra
  2. Varahi Navratri in the month of Ashada
  3. Sharda Navratri in the month of Ashvayuja
  4. Shyamala Navratri or Matangi Navratri in the month of Magha

Every year, these four Navratris occur. Chaitra and Ashwayuja Navratri are well-known. The other two are Gupta Navratri and Gupta Navratri. Only those who have a tradition perform this. Gupta Navratri is predominantly observed in North India. Gupta Navratri is not like other pujas and Vratas in that it does not welcome everyone. These are carried out in complete secrecy. Goddess Durga is worshipped in nine forms, known as Navadurgs, throughout the nine days of Gupta Navratri.

In South India, this Navratri is celebrated as Shyamala Navratri. These Navratri are very special. Devotional worship of Goddess Shyamala on Navratri brings good jobs, higher ranks, education, and prosperity. Puranas and Itihasas also tell us that develop strong relationships between husbands and wives and get married quickly whos looking for marriage In order to kill the demon Bhandasura, Adi Parasakti emerges as Sri Lalita Devi and re-creates all god and Goddess. In order to create a goddess, Shyamala originated and she got appointed as Prime minister (Mantrini) of Goddess Lalitha. For that reason, Shyamaladevi is also known as Mantrini Devi. This mother is called Matangi in Dasha Maha Vidya.
